“The Braintree Rotary Club, Inc and their Board of Directors agreed to participate in the Coats for Kids Project this year.

It's very simple.....if you have any "gently used" coats (this year they are specifically asking for winter coats, no spring jackets) in any size (infant to adult)....they can be brought to me Christopher Fleser at my office at 175 Derby St. Suite 12 Hingham, MA 02043 up to January 9, 2010 and I’ll take them to a the Braintree Rotary meeting which I try to attend every Thursday, as I receive them and then all collected coats will be sent to Anton's Cleaners. Anton's is cleaning the coats and helping distribute them to the needy in the area.

Last year Braintree Rotary, as a Community Partner, collected 44 coats (60,000 were collected in total).....We’d like to see if we cannot surpass that number this year PLEASE ASSIST US in breaking last year’s record. Don't forget to ask family and friends to help out. It's a great time of year to clean out the closets...so keep the Coats for Kids Project in mind while doing so!

Along the shore of the Massachusetts Bay over to Cape Cod, moving South and east from Boston this geographic area is known as South Shore, Massachusetts. This region covers two counties, Norfolk and Plymouth which include many cities and towns.

The population consists of a high number of Irish-Americans descendents. South Shore is a mixture of mid-sized industrial cities, towns and bedroom communities.

In light of our countries current economy crisis South Sore is well positioned to ride it out and emerge stronger than ever. Overall the unemployment rate is lower than the state of Massachusetts as a whole and way below the rest of the U.S. The key industries that make up South Shores economy are finance, insurance and retail services.

Thinking big is what the members of the economic advisory panel are doing. Major developments include possible projects such as the pipeline, Hollywood power brokers and the use of federal money for shovel ready projects in the areas of construction, scientific research and technology. Alternative energy including turbines are in the plans for some communities.
